Hello followers and supporters,
It's pretty much the best Halloween. Ever. Here on THE DREAMERS we have reached 80% funding and now will officially receive all of your generous donations through Seed&Spark. Green never felt so good. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you. Get ready for that ginourmous rap song, some ukulele serenades, thank you cards, and hilarious pictures of us on set.
This is the best treat after two weeks of nonstop filming, planning, scheduling, memorizing, meeting, and problem solving.
Tonight we are going to kick up our feet, eat some Butterfingers, and raise our glass to all of you amazing supporters. Without you we wouldn't be here.
Hello to all our supporters and followers,
The launch party on Thursday was a huge success. We had over 50 people show up at Black Rock Pub to eat, drink, and premiere the first episode of THE DREAMERS.
The room was filled with laughter and love. We couldn't ask for more. We've gotten an amass of emails, texts, and phone calls from our friends, family, and fans...
"I just wanted to say that I thought 'The Dreamers' was amazing last night. Thank you so much for inviting me to share in your art. It was beautiful and I admire you for going after what you want and making it happen. I think it's a very honest portrayal and very brave of you to put your feelings out there for all to see.I think this will be an amazing product and I know only good things can come from it because of your determination and talent."

This weekend all the planning, negotiating, developing, rewriting, scheduling, and redbulling collided into the magic of scenes from The Dreamers Episodes 2 & 3! Both Saturday and Sunday (10/12-10/13) were filled with busy set moves from the gym, to a church, and onto Cavin and Clarissa's apartments. The scenes we shot definitely continue to immerse ourselves into these characters interesting and complicated lives much like all of us in Chicago.
We were lucky to be able to use the church space provided by Erin O'Shea and Jennifer Betancourt who also co-star in Episode 2 as well! The ladies are from Awkward Pause Theatre and everyone should definitely check out their website and the amazing stuff they have going on at the moment:
Phew, it's been a whirlwind of a week from editing, to sound designing, to booking locations for the second and third episode. The most exciting news of the week was being asked by Seed & Spark to write a blog post for their Bright Ideas page that was then featured on Bitch Flicks. I couldn't be more honored and humbled.

I’m thirteen years old and staring open mouthed at the ending credits. Immediately I hit the stop button, eject the DVD, and reinsert it into the player. Again. I have to see Princess Mononoke speak her mind, stick up for the sprits, and save the forest again. Then a third time. And then six more times. And then twice more for my friends who hadn’t seen it yet. No shame. I was completely blindsided by the power and grace of this story. The princess of the wolves was incredible, and not only was she a fucking badass... she was a she.
As a twenty something female operating in a big city far far away from the confines of her small town where everyone goes to the Polar Bear Diner for breakfast on Sundays, there came a day when I realized I had to stop waiting for permission. In 2011 I graduated from DePaul’s Acting Program with a solid education, a hefty repertoire of monologues for 20 something females, and a whole hell of a lot of anxiety. That first summer out of college was a cluster fuck. I got mugged on the CTA, I lost friends, I had to put my cat to sleep, I watched fellow artists give up, I had my heart broken into a million pieces, and I got rejection after rejection from talent agencies. Never had I felt so alone and lost.
