The launch party on Thursday was a huge success. We had over 50 people show up at Black Rock Pub to eat, drink, and premiere the first episode of THE DREAMERS.
"I just wanted to say that I thought 'The Dreamers' was amazing last night. Thank you so much for inviting me to share in your art. It was beautiful and I admire you for going after what you want and making it happen. I think it's a very honest portrayal and very brave of you to put your feelings out there for all to see.I think this will be an amazing product and I know only good things can come from it because of your determination and talent."
-Katie Fraser, Journalist/ Social Media
-Kaitlyn Griggs, Actress and Social Media Manager
"I honestly have not connected with a group of characters as much as I did last night while watch the pilot. I have yet to see some sort of production with believable adults my age who are actually struggling (burn in hell, Glee). I know who these people are and I can identify with each and every one of them. The relationships remind me of my friendships throughout the years and reinforce how important and awesome it is to have a family. The pilot feels like Chicago and it feels like our generation. I also loved the soundtrack!"
-Mike Newquist, Actor and Cartoonist
"As an artist watching the pilot episode, there was an immediate connection to the characters and the life they were living. The joys and pains that they are going through on screen are present in the life of every artist I know and it's easy to connect the experiences of my friends and colleagues to the people I'm watching. The Dreamers is a clear capture of the lives of people I see everyday. I'm excited to further see the development of the story and characters and to know what keeps the dreams of these individuals alive. The technical quality and level of detail are unparalleled to any web series that I have seen, and it's clear that a great deal of effort went into making a truly cinematic experience."
-Ross Hoppe, Scenic Designer
"I'm still in total awe by what you were able to accomplish off of pure will and determination. You should be so proud of yourself and last night is just the beginning of a glimpse of the love and support that so many people have and will have towards this series. It's only the beginning..."
-Christopher Allen, Actor
"If you have ever worked a "day-job" so you could pursue your dreams despite the odds, you will relate to many of the situations these characters find themselves in. And even if you haven't, you won't be able but help to root for them. At the end of the pilot, I already couldn't wait to find out what happens next. Beautifully shot, superbly acted, and wonderfully Chicagoan!"
-Emily Hughes, Actress, Singer, and Teacher.
"The Dreamers really strikes home with me. its been a total bitch since graduation, and its really calming to see that it isn't just me. The whole writing/acting thing is hard enough without having a job, you know, and its inspiring to see someone doing something that revolves around that hardship/growth through hardship. SO, I just wanted to say thank you for creating the project, and good luck! i'll be watching and supporting!"
-Michael Countryman, Actor and Writer
And that isn't even half of the responses we have received from our fans. Thanks guys, you make it all worth it.
